The Maine Troop Greeters

Welcome to the offical website of The Maine Troop Greeters of Bangor, Maine. We are a non-profit group of veterans and men and women supporting our armed forces serving overseas by making sure no troop flight goes ungreeted at the Bangor International Airport.

Day or night, rain or shine, in sickness and in health it is our commitment to welcome each troop home from war and give a proper sendoff to each of the young men and women heading overseas. We accomplish this by being there for them and offering them free cell phones to call a loved one, a snack to keep them going, and lots of hugs and handshakes to let them know we care.

Since we began greeting flights in May of 2003, the Maine Troop Greeters have greeted over 400,000 service members and 35 military dogs. And it is our pledge that as long as there are U.S. armed forces serving overseas we will be there to greet them.
